Five reasons homes in Kempsey and the Macleay Valley choose Chem-Dry

The five things Chem-Dry is known for, in plain language.

  1. Healthier Deeper Clean

Cleaner through the pile, not just on top

Hot Carbonating Extraction lifts dirt, dust and allergens out of the carpet fibre instead of pushing them around. Mid North Coast homes collect sand, dust and the odd muddy paw, and that grit settles deep in the weave.

  2. Fast Drying Times

    Dry in hours, not days

Chem-Dry uses up to 80% less water than typical steam cleaning, and carpets are typically dry in 1–4 hours. On the Mid North Coast, where afternoon humidity averages over 60%, less water in means less waiting.

  3. Eco certifications: EPA Safer Choice and ECOLOGO, for The Natural from Chem-Dry

    Eco Certifications

    Safer-choice cleaning for lived-in homes

Chem-Dry’s main cleaner, The Natural®, has no soaps, detergents or fragrances, and carries EPA Safer Choice and ECOLOGO certifications. In plain words: independent groups have checked it, and it is made for homes with kids and pets.

  4. Chem-Dry 40 Years, Since 1986 badge

    40 Years of Trust

A brand Australians have used for 40 years

Chem-Dry has been cleaning Australian homes since 1986. Chem-Dry Port Macquarie is a locally owned and operated family business, so you get that tested system from Andy, who lives locally and drives the van every day.

  5. Chem-Dry P.U.R.T. Pet Urine Removal Treatment Professional badge

    P.U.R.T.® – Pets

Pet urine treated at the source

P.U.R.T.® (Pet Urine Removal Treatment) goes after the urine crystals that make a smell come back on warm, humid days, instead of just covering it up. Handy for any home with a dog or cat.

Kempsey (postcode 2440) is the main town of the Macleay Valley and the council seat for Kempsey Shire. It sits on a long loop of the Macleay River, about 16.5 km inland from the coast, and had a population of around 15,000 at last count.

What homes here ask us for

Humid summers and slow-drying carpet

Kempsey has a humid subtropical climate, with very warm, humid and rainy summers. A carpet that is soaked during a clean can take a long time to dry in that weather. Chem-Dry uses far less water than steam cleaning, so most carpets are dry again in 1–4 hours and there is less chance of a damp smell.

River flats and flood history

Kempsey is known for its floods, with major ones in 1949, 2001, 2009, 2013, 2021 and 2022. If floodwater has been through your home, that is a different job to a normal clean: carpet that has sat in floodwater needs specialist attention and a talk with your insurer. Call us and we’ll tell you honestly whether we can help or whether you need someone else first.

Family homes, pets and rentals

From the older homes in East Kempsey to newer houses on the edge of town, carpets, lounges and rugs all get a work-out from kids, dogs and muddy boots. We clean carpet, upholstery, rugs and mattresses in one visit, and if a pet accident keeps coming back, ask about P.U.R.T.® pet urine treatment. Renters and landlords are welcome to call about end-of-lease cleans.
